2005
A Minor League free agent acquisition, Fick came through in a major way as a vital role player, producing consistent offense and steady defense while starting 50 games at four positions: catcher, first, left and right field. He also made his first career appearance at third. His production fell off in the second half after a .317 first half, but he still managed to deliver clutch hits. He batted .370 as a pinch-hitter. A free agent, the well-traveled Fick revitalized his career as a Padre.
2004
Signed a minor league contract Aug. 19 and the Padres purchased his contract Aug. 31...after hitting .380 with six RBIs in 12 games with the Triple-A Portland Beavers, Fick hit .167 in 13 games with the Padres...collected first hit with Padres on Sept. 21 vs. the Dodgers.

Was the Braves primary starter at first base against right-handed pitching...Made 111 starts, all

- Began the 1999 season on the 15-day disabled list after suffering a left shoulder strain (shoulder subluxation) swinging a bat in Spring Training; was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 15 and underwent surgery on May 13
- Had rehab assignments in August with the GCL Tigers, West Michigan and Toledo
- Was reinstated from the 60-day DL on September 7 and called up to Detroit, where he made 11 starts (seven at DH, four at catcher) and appeared in 15 games
- His grand slam on September 27 contributed to his career-best five-RBI game
- Became the first player ever to hit a grand slam as the last homer in a major league park that closed with at least 100 home runs hit there
- Played six total rehab games with the GCL Tigers and Class A West Michigan
