Colin Robert Peluse was originally signed by A’s scout Neil Avent…graduated from Middletown (Del.) High School…had “Tommy John” surgery his senior season…attended Wake Forest University where he compiled a 14-11 record and a 4.54 ERA in 51 games, including 36 starts, over three seasons.

Was named the A’s Organizational Pitcher of the Year after combining for a 9-3 record and a 3.39 ERA in 21 games, including 18 starts, with High-A Lansing and Double-A Midland...Led the A’s farm system in wins, ranked third in ERA and strikeouts (109) and eighth in innings pitched (101.0)... Walked just 26 batters for a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 4.19... Spent most of the season with the Lugnuts where he was 7-3 with a 3.66 ERA in 18 games, including 15 starts…tied for fifth in the High-A Central in wins and his ERA was sixth best among pitchers with 80 or more innings…was promoted to the RockHounds on Aug. 30 and went 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in three Double-A starts... Went 2-2 with a 5.58 ERA and .278 opponents batting average over his first seven games, including five starts, through June 19…then was 7-1 with a 2.43 ERA and .222 opponents average over his final 14 games, including 13 starts...Allowed a .241 opponents batting average, which broke down to .185 (37-for-200) with a .516 OPS against left-handed hitters compared to .303 (54-for-178) with an .851 OPS against right-handers... His opponents batting average dropped to .215 with runners in scoring position, including .152 with RISP and two outs... Went 4-1 with a 2.38 ERA in 10 games at Lansing’s Jackson Field and 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts at Midland’s Momentum Bank Ballpark…combined for a 4-2 record and a 4.44 ERA in nine games on the road... Went 9-3 with a 3.59 ERA in his 18 starts, 0-0 with a 1.69 ERA in three relief appearances.. Had a .212 opponents batting average the first time through the order, .274 the second time and .229 after that... Opponents hit .155 with two strikes but had a .458 average when putting the first pitch in play... Yielded a .192 batting average to the opponents leadoff hitter... Of his 21 appearances, 13 came on six days rest or more…his first eight appearances and 11 of his first 13 came on a Saturday.... His teams were 13-5 (.722) in his starting assignments…tossed at least five innings in 12 of his 18 starts but never more than six.... Was rated as the A’s 10th-best prospect by Baseball America following the season.
DAY-BY-DAY: Made his first two appearances of the season in relief (8.0 ip, 3 h, 1 r, 1 er, 4 bb, 10 so)…then moved into the starting rotation on May 22 and allowed a career-high eight runs on a career-high 10 hits in 3.1 innings in a 12-7 loss at Fort Wayne that day…struck out a careerhigh 10 batters in 5.2 innings and allowed just one run in a 9-3 win over South Bend on June 5…was 2-2 with a 5.40 ERA over his first six games, including four starts, through June 12…then had four straight starts without a decision from June 19 to July 11 (3.15 ERA)…tossed a career-high 6.0 innings and allowed just two runs on June 26 at Cedar Rapids…it was his first of six outings of 6.0 innings…won four consecutive starts from July 17-Aug. 6 and had a 1.59 ERA, 23 strikeouts and just four walks in 22.2 innings over that span…logged a career-high 94 pitches in 5.0 innings and defeated Lake County 7-6 on July 17…was 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA in five starts in July…surrendered a career-high three home runs in a 7-3 loss to Dayton on Aug. 12…then went 3-0 with a 2.02 ERA and .174 opponents batting average over his final six appearances…made his third and final relief appearance of the season in his final outing with Lansing on Aug. 29 against West Michigan (2.2 ip, 3 h, 1 r, 1 er, 2 bb, 3 so)…was promoted to Midland the next day…did not allow a run in his first two Double-A starts on Sept. 4 against Frisco (5.0 ip, 1 h, 0 bb, 8 so) and Sept. 9 at Corpus Christi (6.0 ip, 4 h, 0 bb, 4 so), both wins…then issued a career-high four walks in 4.0 innings in his final start on Sept. 16 against Tulsa after walking just four batters in 45.1 innings over his previous nine games.
