Spent most of the season at the Cardinals’ alternate training site but made his Major League debut by playing in 11 games... Made all 11 of his apps from 8/5-8/28...was on the roster twice more, from 9/16-9/17 and 9/28-9/29, but did not play in a game... Played 2B (5g, 3gs) and 3B (2g, 1gs)... On 8/15 made his Major League debut in a 6-3 Cardinals win at White Sox...started at 2B in the nightcap of a doubleheader sweep...in the fifth inning, in his second career plate appearance, singled off Jimmy Cordero for his first Major League hit...singled again in his next plate appearance, in the sixth inning, off Jace Fry... Also made a pitching appearance...in the 14-2 loss to the Indians on 8/28 threw eight pitches in a perfect ninth inning (Tyler Naquin F8, Jordon Luplow FP2, Roberto Perez 6-3)... Hit his only Major League home run in a 5-4 loss to the Cubs in the nightcap of a doubleheader at Wrigley Field on 8/17 (solo off Kyle Ryan)...was the second of the Cardinals’ only set of back-to-back HR all season, preceded by Brad Miller’s homer... Following the season, on 10/30, was claimed off waivers by the Cubs... On 2/5/21 was designated for assignment by the Cubs... On 2/10/21 was claimed off waivers by the Reds.

Was invited to Major League Spring Training for the second consecutive season...Entered the season ranked by Baseball America as the No. 25 prospect in the Cardinals organization...Played injury-shortened season with Memphis (AAA), batting .375/.366/.281 (73-265) with two home runs, 20 doubles, and 31 RBI in 85 games...Spent three separate stints on the injured list, missing a combined 38 games from May 8-15 (7 g), June 8-26 (17 g), and July 5-22 (14 g)...Reached base safely in 63 of 85 games...Stole 12 bases in 14 attempts, including swiping third base successfully in all three attempts...Batted .323/.399/.449 (41-127) in 43 home games, but .234/.340/.321 (32-137) in 42 road games...Hit .303 (63-208) off right-handed pitching (.179, 10-56 off lefties)...Appeared primarily at third base defensively in a team-leading 56 games, while also playing at second base (10g) and right field (4g).

Was invited to Major League Spring Training but injured his oblique on the first day of practice and did not appear in a game until exhibition games in Montréal and was 2-for-2 with an RBI triple vs. TOR (3/26)...Batted .323 (30-93) during the month of April in Memphis (AAA) leading the Redbirds in hits (30)...Played in 114 games, starting 76 at second base, 14 at third base and four in left field...Ranked as the 2nd Toughest to Strike Out in the Pacific Coast League (12.69 TPA/SO)...Twice went 10 consecutive games without a strike out during the season (5/25-6/7 & 6/22-7/2)...Hit a three-run home run in his first game as a member of the Cardinals organization for Memphis (AAA) at Round Rock (4/5)... Recorded two stolen bases in a game twice (at Round Rock 4/9 & at Nashville 9/1)...Played in six Pacific Coast League playoff games batting .313 (5-16). Appeared in the Triple-A Championship game vs. Durham (9/18) and recorded one at-bat.
2017
Played in 106 games at Midland (AA) starting 100 games at second base... Named to the Texas League All-Star South Squad as the starting second baseman. Batted No. 5 in the lineup and was 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the South's 10-3 win... Named to the Texas League Post-Season All-Star Team... Ranked second among Texas League leaders in batting (.321, 4th) and on-base percentage (.379, 3rd)... Was "Toughest to Strike Out" in the Texas League recording a strikeout once every 10.88 plate appearances... Led all Texas League second basemen in fielding percentage (.986), games (101), total chances (436), put outs (173), assists (257) and double plays (83)... Posted a 35-game errorless streak from (4/26-6/25)... Hit safely in 20 straight home games from 4/9 to 7/1 (.443, 35-79), leading the Texas League... Tallied his first career multi-home run game at Frisco (5/17)... Played in 10 postseason games and batted .350 (14-40) with two doubles, two RBI and six runs scored, helping Midland to their fourth straight Texas League Championship.. Missed two and one-half weeks (5/31-6/17) of the season with a strained left hamstring.

Led all of minor league baseball with 177 hits after batting .331 with 32 doubles, two triples, nine home runs and 71 RBI in 129 games with Single-A Hagerstown and Single-A Potomac in the Washington organization and Single-A Stockton and Double-A Midland in the A's organization…his batting average ranked ninth among all full season minor leaguers…also stole 22 bases…struck out just 42 times, an average of 13.7 plate appearances per strikeout…began the season at Hagerstown where he hit .326 in 67 games…was promoted to Potomac June 27 and batted .341 in 54 games…combined for a .333 batting average with the two clubs and led the Nationals farm system in batting…was traded to the A's Aug. 25 in the Marc Rzepczynski deal and went 1-for-9 (.111) in two games with Stockton and 9-for-23 (.391) in six games with Midland for a .313 average in eight games in the Oakland farm system…had 57 multiple hit games, including 13 three-hit games, one four-hit game and two five-hit games…hit .344 (135- for-392) with 40 of his 43 extra base hits against right-handed pitching compared to .295 (42-for-142) against left-handers…slugged .490 against righties, .338 against lefties…had a .311 batting average with runners in scoring position, but that dropped to .237 with RISP and two outs…appeared in 108 games at second base and two at shortstop (both with Potomac)…committed 12 errors as a second baseman for a .974 fielding percentage…did not have an error in three chances at shortstop…also hit .273 in 19 games as the designated hitter…saw his most action with 94 games batting second in the order.
