In his third professional campaign, Walcott was listed by MiLB.com as the Top MLB Prospect in the Texas League after producing career highs in runs (71), hits (tied, 121), homers (13), RBI (59), walks (70) and stolen bases (32) over a career-most 124 games exclusively with Frisco (AA)…Despite being the youngest everyday player in the Texas League at 19 years old (4.9 years younger than the average TL player), Walcott was one of the league’s top offensive producers, ranking among the circuit’s best in walks (fourth), hits (seventh), runs (tied for seventh), steals (tied for seventh) and total bases (ninth, 183)…Became the first player in the Texas League to record 10+ home runs and 30+ stolen bases in an age-19-or-younger season since Mike Trout with Arkansas in 2011 (11 HR, 33 SB in age-19 season)…Turned in a 12.7% walk rate (14th among TL qualifiers) and 19.6% strikeout rate (15th in TL), both career-best marks…On May 30 at AMA, went 3-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI and two stolen bases, one of five two-plus HR, two-plus SB performances in all of the Minors last season, and the only such game in the Texas League…Selected to participate in the All-Star Futures Game in Atlanta on July 12, where he went 0-for-1 with a sac fly in the fourth inning…On Aug. 26 vs. SA, successfully stole home after a catcher back-pick attempt to third base, scoring the winning run of a 3-2 ‘Riders victory…Drew a career-high four walks on Aug. 30 vs. SA…Hit safely in each of his 12 games in Sept. In his second professional season, the shortstop batted .265/.344/.452/.796 (121-456) with 11 home runs, nine triples, 34 doubles and 56 RBI in 121 games with Hickory (A+) and Frisco (AA)…was distinguished as the Rangers Minor League Player of the Year by Baseball America…his ranks among all Minor Leaguers in an age 18-or-younger campaign in ‘24: 2B (first), 3B (T1st), H (second), R (second, 64), G (second), AB (second), RBI (T4th), HR (T5th)…made starts defensively at shortstop (81), third base (21) and designated hitter (19)…batted just .176 (24-for-136) over his first 41 games, but hit .300 (89-for-297) over his final 75 games…saw better results against left-handed pitching (.286/.348/505/.853) than against righties (.259/.343/.436/.778)…116 of his 121 games came with Hickory, where he was named to the South Atlantic League’s Postseason All-Star team after ranking among SAL leaders in XBH (first, 50), TB (first, 192), 3B (first, 9), 2B (second, 31), H (second, 113) and OPS (seventh, .785)…joined SD’s Fernando Tatis Jr. (2017) and Samuel Zavala (2023) as the only Minor Leaguers since 2013 to record 10+ HR, 20+ 2B and 15+ SB in an age-18- or-younger season at a full-season Minor League affiliate…was promoted to Frisco on 9/10 and went 8-for-23 (.348) with one HR, three 2B and seven RBI in five games for the RoughRiders…launched his first Double-A home run in his final regular season game on 9/14/24 at AMA, a no-doubt three-run shot to left field…was one of only three players to appear in the Texas League at age 18-or-younger, joining KC’s Asbel Gonzalez and HOU’s Anthony Huezo... Combined to slash .246/.335/.471/.806 (46-for-187) with seven HR, 24 RBI and 12 SB in 48-G professional debut between Rookie levels DSL Rangers Blue (nine games) and ACL Rangers (35 games), and High-A Down East (four games)…after nine-game season-opening stint with DSL Rangers Blue, was promoted to the ACL Rangers on 6/20, where he hit safely in 16 of his first 17 games; batted .380 (27-for-71) with six HR and 14 RBI in span…promoted to Hickory (A+) on 9/20, becoming the first TEX farmhand age 17-or-younger to reach a full-season Minor League affiliate since INF Michael De Leon in 2014…garnered MiLB.com TEX Org. All-Star honors and finished the campaign rated as the 54th-best prospect in baseball, and the third-best in the Texas organization, according to Baseball America…was heralded as having the best infield arm and being the most exciting player in the South Atlantic League by league managers, per Baseball America.
