Baseball Probable Pitchers

Wright's start will be his first postseason appearance. The 25-year-old last pitched on Sept. 25, when he allowed two runs in a career-high 6 2/3 innings in a no-decision vs. the Red Sox.

The rookie Sánchez was electric in his postseason debut, shutting out the Cubs for five innings. He faced the Braves twice in the regular season, pitching six scoreless innings on Sept. 8 but allowing four runs in three innings on Sept. 23.

Montas will make his first career postseason start in a must-win Game 4 for the A's. The righty impressed out of the bullpen in Oakland's win over the White Sox in Game 3 of the Wild Card Series, showing off his 98 mph fastball as he allowed one run over two innings. Montas went 2-1 with a 4.11 ERA against Houston over three starts in the regular season.

After dealing with right arm soreness, Greinke will start Game 4 of the ALDS. The veteran righty started Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series against the Twins on Sept. 29, but was lifted after allowing one run on two hits and three walks in four innings.

Thompson will be making his first career postseason start, though it comes as an opener. Thompson made one appearance as an opener this season, tossing two scoreless innings against the Yankees on Aug. 8. Ryan Yarbrough is expected to get the bulk of the innings in relief.

Montgomery will make his postseason debut, tabbed for his first outing since Sept. 24. The left-hander faced the Rays on Sept. 2 at Yankee Stadium but did not complete the first inning.

May tossed two perfect innings in winning Game 1 in relief. He made only 27 pitches -- striking out Fernando Tatis Jr., Tommy Pham and Wil Myers -- in what amounted to a bullpen session.

In a must-win Game 3, the Padres turn to Morejon, a 21-year-old rookie whose stuff has been electric all postseason. He's yet to receive a playoff start, but Padres manager Jayce Tingler has said he's capable of five innings if needed.
