Texas Rangers roster moves for March 17

Surprise, AZ-The Texas Rangers announced the following roster moves today:

Optioned to Triple-A Round Rock: RHP Cory Burns, RHP Miles Mikolas, RHP Nick Tepesch, and INF Andy Parrino.

Reassigned to minor league camp: RHP Daniel Bard, who will continue his rehab from January surgery, C Patrick Cantwell, C Brett Nicholas, INF Kensuke Tanaka, OF Bryan Petersen, and OF Brad Snyder.

In addition, RHP Jose Contreras was offered reassignment to minor league camp but is weighing his options, which include retiring as an active player.

With the moves, the Rangers have 39 players remaining in camp, not including LHP Derek Holland and LHP Joseph Ortiz, who are both on the 60-day disabled list.
