Snell to return from DL for Saturday start

August 2nd, 2018

ST. PETERSBURG -- Following the Rays' 4-2 win over the Angels on Thursday afternoon, manager Kevin Cash announced that would return from the disabled list to start Saturday against the White Sox.
Snell went on the 10-day disabled list on July 23 with left shoulder fatigue.
The left-hander has been Tampa Bay's best pitcher this season, going 12-5 with a 2.27 ERA. His emergence has been just short of remarkable.
After completing a stellar Minor League career, Snell had difficulty delivering once he got to The Show. At one point last season, he was 0-6 with a 4.98 ERA, which led to several demotions to Triple-A Durham. But once Snell got recalled on Aug. 8, he finished strong, going 5-1 with a 2.84 ERA in his final 10 starts.
Saturday will be Snell's 21st start of the season. He is 6-1 with a 0.87 ERA at Tropicana Field this season.
Snell collected his first win of the season against the White Sox in Chicago on April 10, when he allowed one run in six innings while striking out 10.
