No. 6 Walker Jenkins, OF, Twins
Injury: Left ankle stiffness
Expected return: At least early June
Jenkins has lingering left ankle soreness and will remain out for at least a few more weeks. The Twins' top prospect first suffered a sprained left ankle during Spring Training. He missed much of camp but returned in time to open the season on the active roster of Double-A Wichita. However, he experienced recurring discomfort and was placed on the injured list after two games. While he has been focusing on first base since the spring, the Royals had him start to get reps in right field at the end of April, increasing his versatility as they began to think about what his fit would be on their big league roster. He logged six games in right field and one in left. That first base-outfield rotation will likely continue in Triple-A. (Last updated: May 18)

No. 29 Ethan Salas, C, Padres

Preller told MLB.com's AJ Cassavell that the 18-year-old has been diagnosed with a lower back stress reaction.
