The Minnesota Twins players, wives and front office staff take part in the organization's annual Hope Week presented by Subway, a week dedicated to giving back to the community. During each day of Hope Week, different Twins players will lead groups of teammates in participating in various volunteer activities.
The Minnesota Twins are committed to supporting community partners throughout Twins Territory. Each season the Twins will bring awareness to a select group of community partners by featuring them on the outfield wall at Target Field.
Current Outfield Wall Community Partner: Animal Humane Society
Every year, Animal Humane Society cares for more than 23,000 animals in need and aids thousands more through programs that help people nurture and protect their pets. They take in every animal surrendered, regardless of its health, age, breed, or behavior and provide extensive medical treatment, behavior programs, compassionate care, and new homes for these cats, dogs, and critters. As a result of these extraordinary efforts, Animal Humane Society placed more than 95 percent of the animals that came through their doors last year.
Twins pitcher Jake Odorizzi is supporting Animal Humane Society during the 2019 season by donating $50 for every strikeout he throws.
The Twins are proud to support athletes in our community. Positive Athlete is an umbrella brand for all athletes who are marking a positive contribution to their communities, overcoming difficult circumstances with a positive attitude, and believe a positive attitude is essential to their success.
