Angels sign LHP Tyler Anderson to three-year contract

ANAHEIM – The Angels today agreed to a three-year, $39 million contract ($13 million annually) with LHP Tyler Anderson.

Anderson, 32, was selected to the National League All-Star team in 2022 after going 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA (178.2 IP – 51 ER) and 138 strikeouts across 30 games (28 starts) for the Dodgers. Among N.L. leaders, he ranked tied for second in winning percentage (.750), fifth in ERA, tied for fifth in wins, seventh in WHIP (1.00) and eighth in opponent batting average (.221).

A native of Las Vegas, Anderson was selected by Colorado in the first round (20th overall) in the 2011 Draft out of the University of Oregon. He made his Major League debut with the Rockies in 2016 and has totaled 147 games (141 starts) across seven MLB seasons with the Rockies (2016-19), Giants (2020), Pirates (2021), Mariners (2021) and Dodgers (2022).
