Your guide to all things Blue Jays Spring Training

11:59 AM UTC

TORONTO -- The wait is almost over, even if the wait was a little shorter this winter.

The Blue Jays’ run to the 2025 World Series left them with an offseason one month shorter than their typical ones, but they got to work quickly, overhauling their roster for another. With Spring Training opening next week in Dunedin, Fla., all eyes are back on the Blue Jays.

Here’s everything you need to know:

When is the first workout for pitchers and catchers?
The first official day for pitchers and catchers will be on Wednesday, Feb. 11, but many have already landed at the Blue Jays’ complex in Dunedin to begin training.

What is the date of the first full-squad workout?
The next week on Monday, Feb. 16, the Blue Jays will hold their first full-squad workout. Just like pitchers and catchers, there are plenty of hitters already training at the complex, especially given that many already live in the area over the offseason.

Where is the team’s facility?
The Blue Jays spend their spring split between their complex and stadium, which are in separate locations in Dunedin. The newly renovated player development complex is located at 3031 Garrison Rd., while TD Ballpark is located at 373 Douglas Ave. The two spots are just over three miles apart, which is a 10-minute drive most days.

Who are some new faces fans should know?
Some familiar favorites, like Bo Bichette and Chris Bassitt, are gone, but the Blue Jays spent big this winter to bring in new talent. Dylan Cease is the headliner after signing a seven-year, $210 million contract, the largest free-agent deal in Blue Jays history. Joining him in the rotation will be Cody Ponce, whom the Blue Jays signed to a three-year, $30 million deal after he reinvented himself in Japan and Korea. Tyler Rogers represents the big bullpen addition this season, and you won’t mistake him for anyone else on the mound, given his extreme submarine throwing style.

Kazuma Okamoto is the ultimate “new face” in camp, though, as the Japanese star is making the move to Major League Baseball after playing professionally for the Yomiuri Giants. It will be fascinating to see how quickly Okamoto can adjust, particularly at the plate, and the Blue Jays are betting on him to help replace some of Bichette’s production.

Who are some of the top prospects invited to Major League camp?
It’s amazing that Trey Yesavage (Toronto’s No. 1 prospect, per MLB Pipeline) is still rookie eligible after his incredible debut in 2025, so the Rookie of the Year Award could be his to lose. Ricky Tiedemann (No. 4) has been added to the 40-man roster, too, and still possesses incredible upside at 23 years old despite missing most of the past two seasons due to elbow surgery.

You’ll also see some of right-hander Gage Stanifer (No. 6) in Grapefruit League games. Stanifer was one of the best development stories in this system last season and could develop into a legitimate MLB option at some point later in 2026. On the position player side, Arjun Nimmala (No. 3) will be joined by Josh Kasevich, Sean Keys, Charles McAdoo and RJ Schreck, the outfielder who could force his way into the MLB depth picture this season.

When is the team’s first Grapefruit League game?
Saturday, Feb. 21, at home vs. the Phillies.

What are a few other notable spring games?

  • Tuesday, March 3: Exhibition against Team Canada
  • Wednesday, March 11: The lone evening game of spring, 6:35pm ET vs. the Yankees
  • Saturday, March 21: Spring Breakout game vs. Phillies prospects

What is Spring Breakout?
This game, on March 21, will showcase many of the Blue Jays’ top prospects, all in one spot. This is your best chance to get a look at the future of the Blue Jays. By then, you’ll also have our fully updated Top 30 Prospect rankings for the new year.

Will the team’s games be televised?
Yes, Sportsnet will continue to broadcast games in Spring Training. Full details are expected to be announced soon.

When is the club’s last game in Florida?
The Blue Jays end Grapefruit League play on Sunday, March 22, at home against the Rays, and likely fly to Toronto that night.

What are the details for Opening Day?
Opening Day in Toronto is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. ET Friday, March, 27, against the A’s at Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays will host the A’s for three games and the Rockies for three before they hit the road to Chicago for the first road trip of the season in early April with three games against the White Sox.
