Cover your ears! Springer's dinger sends decibels soaring at Rogers Centre

October 21st, 2025

In an epic seven-game battle in the ALCS, it was ’s go-ahead three-run home run in Game 7 in Toronto that helped secure the Blue Jays’ first World Series appearance since 1993.

And boy, was it a memorable and loud moment at Rogers Centre. In a video captured by Sportsnet, a sound level meter shows the exact moment when Springer’s ball left the yard in Toronto, peaking at a remarkable 110 decibels. For those unaware, anything registering over 100 decibels is deemed to be “too loud” for extended periods of time.

Springer’s dinger had obvious shades of Joe Carter’s historic walk-off, title-clinching home run in Game 6 of the 1993 World Series against the Phillies. And while the Blue Jays will certainly want to end their season in similar fashion in a matchup against the Dodgers that begins Friday at Rogers Centre, Springer has already produced one of the great moments in Toronto sports history.
