TORONTO -- Losing the game wasn’t the only loss for the Blue Jays in Friday night's 5-4 defeat against the Rangers at Rogers Centre.

Outfielder exited the game after making a catch and crashing into the wall in left field to end the top of the seventh inning.

Sánchez remained down for several seconds before eventually making his way to his feet. He began to jog to the dugout but slowed to a walk as trainer Jose Ministral came out to check on him.

It was initially unclear what Sánchez hurt on the play. He went straight down the tunnel upon arriving in the dugout.

Sánchez got X-rays on his right ankle that showed no fracture, manager John Schneider said postgame.

“Definitely a sprain,” Schneider said. “He wasn’t feeling great, felt worse coming in and coming up to the clubhouse. He’ll do a little bit more testing [Saturday] morning and figure out the extent of it."

Davis Schneider came on to pinch-hit when Sánchez's spot in the order came up in the bottom of the inning.
