Pollock homers off Kershaw to tie for MLB lead

May 2nd, 2018

PHOENIX -- A.J. Pollock continues to punish Dodgers pitching as the D-backs outfielder homered for the fourth time in two games with a shot to lead off the second inning. It sent Arizona on its way to a 4-3 victory and a franchise-best 21-8 record to start the season.
Pollock, who hit three homers in Arizona's 8-5 win Monday night, jumped ahead 3-1 on before hitting an 89 mph fastball over the wall in left.
The homer was the 10th of the year for Pollock, who is now tied for the Major League lead.
Of the 10 homers, six have come against the Dodgers. He's been on a roll of late with seven of his last 15 hits having gone for homers.
"There are stretches you go through you see the ball well and there are stretches that you don't," Pollock said Monday night. "I'm seeing the ball pretty well right now. I don't know. Some days it just works."
It's been working a lot lately.
