PHOENIX -- and Nolan Arenado each recorded two RBIs and Zac Gallen pitched 5 1/3 innings as the Diamondbacks beat the Rockies, 5-4, at Chase Field on Saturday. Arizona has won six of its last seven games, and can take three of four against the Rockies with a win on Sunday.

Gallen earned the win after allowing three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. He threw 82 pitches, 52 for strikes, and struck out six while walking two en route to his third win of the season.

Gallen is now 10-1 in 19 career starts against the Rockies, and he has earned more wins and recorded more strikeouts (127) against Colorado than any other opponent he has faced in his eight seasons as a big league pitcher. He generated five whiffs on eleven swings with his slider, and struck out three batters with his four-seamer, which accounted for 33 of his 82 pitches.

Arizona jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning thanks to RBI hits from Arenado and Geraldo Perdomo, though the Rockies responded with two runs in the fourth. Marte’s two-run blast, which had an exit velocity of 112.4 mph and traveled a Statcast-projected 424 feet -- restored the D-backs’ three-run lead while giving Gallen the cushion he needed to settle back in.

Marte finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

The Diamondbacks are back in action on Sunday, wrapping up their four-game set against Colorado before hitting the road for six straight games.
