Video review gives Kemp first homer of '13

NEW YORK -- Matt Kemp finally got his first home run of the season, but only after an instant-replay ruling overturned the original call on the field.

With two outs and Adrian Gonzalez on first base in the sixth inning, Kemp sliced a long fly down the right-field line that appeared to deflect off the hands of a security guard stationed behind the fence, then bounce back into play.

Mets right fielder Marlon Byrd didn't even chase the loose ball until he saw Kemp racing around the bases and a "safe" sign from first-base umpire Tony Randazzo.

Kemp wound up at third and spent two minutes and 29 seconds there -- the time it took for three umpires to watch a replay and determine that it was a home run.
