Dodgers Probable Pitchers

Senzatela held the Padres scoreless for seven innings in his last start Saturday. On Aug. 23 vs. the Dodgers, he surrendered four homers over 5 1/3 frames.

The NL Rookie of the Year candidate is 1-1 with a 2.83 ERA in seven starts and has pitched six innings in three of his last five starts. In his last outing against the Rangers, he didn’t allow a home run for the first time since July 29.

An inability to execute putaway pitches has led to a slump for Márquez. In his last three starts, he's allowed 18 earned runs over 16 innings, and opponents are hitting .348 with a .652 slugging percentage.

Gonsolin (0-0, 0.51) is coming off the shortest start of the four he's made this year, a three-inning outing against the Rangers. He continues to grow and is making a bid to be an important part of the club’s pitching staff during the postseason.

Castellani struggled in his last start, allowing five runs in two innings against the Padres last Sunday. But he bounced back with two scoreless innings against the Giants on Wednesday in a vital relief performance.

The left-hander continues to make a case for a spot in the rotation during the postseason. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts will be picking from Urías, Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin to slide between Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler come October. Urías (3-0, 3.27) struck out five without a walk against the D-backs in his last outing.

Buehler returned from the injured list looking like there never was a finger blister, throwing five scoreless innings against Arizona. After a slow start to the season, Buehler also had an 11-strikeout masterpiece Aug. 21 as he works toward peaking in October.

Weaver pitched well in his last start, which also came against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings. He has struggled in his career against L.A., though, going 1-2 with a 7.85 ERA in five games (three starts).

Still the staff ace, Kershaw has been the most consistent starter in the rotation, including most recently with six scoreless innings and eight strikeouts against Arizona. Velocity is up and home runs are down, although he's had his hiccups at Chase Field.

Clarke stepped into the rotation after the injury to Merrill Kelly. Last time out against the Giants he lasted three innings and allowed three runs on six hits. In his three starts he has a 3.75 ERA.
