RJ Mata is an industry veteran with over two decades of experience in driving revenue growth and cultivating global partnerships. Now in his fifth season with the Dodgers organization, he has been instrumental in expanding the Dodgers’ international presence, particularly in Japan, where he has made significant contributions to generating overseas revenue and developing market-leading partnership platforms.
Prior to joining the Dodgers, RJ held senior leadership positions with the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans, where he spearheaded partnership sales initiatives for both organizations and Champions Square. He also successfully negotiated the naming rights deal for the teams' joint practice facility. RJ's extensive background includes roles with the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets, encompassing traditional sports, esports, and emerging commercial assets. Known for his team-first approach, he consistently delivers sustained revenue growth at the highest levels of professional sports.
Originally from Texas City, TX, RJ earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from Texas Tech University. He currently resides in Arcadia with his wife, Angel, and their son, Jacob.
