All of these events benefit CIC’s efforts to improve & grow the game of baseball & softball, with an emphasis on the following two programs this year.

  • RBI Program - in partnership with Cleveland Metro School District, we are creating an “all-star” team (both baseball & softball) from all of CMSD’s teams. These kids will have an opportunity to travel & participate in the regional RBI Tournament in Indianapolis this summer. This is a real incentive for the student athletes to stay focused on school & athletics so they can participate in this program. Many of these student athletes have never had an opportunity to participate on a travel team before. CIC covers most expenses for all CMSD baseball & softball programing every year.
  • PlayBall! CLE - a new initiative this season that will provide financial support to underserved baseball and softball organizations throughout Greater Cleveland. The goal of PlayBall! CLE is to improve the quality of the youth baseball and softball experience, provide access and opportunity for all youth, and ensure leagues/organizations are applying consistent best practices. PlayBall! CLE will also support a few adaptive sports leagues that give kids of all physical & mental abilities the opportunity to play the game.

Within both programs we will be providing coach training, additional skills clinics, promotional support and educational programming to participants. We anticipate impacting over 3,000 kids with these two programs in 2021.
