Padres partner with Clorox to power youth baseball jersey program

More than 15,000 jerseys and caps distributed as program enters fourth year - #FuturePadres

The San Diego Padres today announced the Club has partnered with Clorox on its youth baseball jersey program. Through Future Padres powered by Clorox, more than 15,000 Padres-branded jerseys and matching caps have been distributed to local youth baseball leagues. Now in its fourth year, the program, formerly known as the Padres' Youth Baseball Initiative, benefits more than 1,000 teams in the San Diego

"Over the past three years, the Padres have been proud to grow our youth baseball jersey program to benefit more than 50 leagues across four local districts," said Tom Seidler of the Padres ownership group. "This year, we are excited to partner with Clorox to power the program through 2016. Together, we are able to impact thousands of Future Padres, their coaches and their families."

"We are truly excited to establish a partnership with the San Diego Padres," said Clorox Vice President, Sales and Sports Marketing Troy Datcher. "We know that keeping uniforms clean for the next big game is a huge task and we are proud to offer products, namely Clorox 2 and Clorox Bleach that provide solutions. Our partnership will allow us to build a relationship with families in San Diego, allowing them to try our new, innovative product offerings, and in turn, show us how we help keep their uniforms clean @ #FuturePadres."

The jerseys and caps distributed in 2015 represent 12 different styles of jerseys that the Padres have worn throughout the club's history. Providing these uniform essentials free of charge gives the leagues the opportunity to re-allocate funds typically budgeted toward uniforms to other areas in need of improvement. Those areas include field improvement and maintenance, equipment needs and concessions stand upgrades. In some cases leagues have been able to significantly drop registration fees, allowing more kids have the opportunity to play baseball.

As part of the partnership, which was facilitated by PIVOT Marketing agency, Clorox will hold a #FuturePadres photo sweepstakes on social media throughout the 2015 season. One winner a month will receive four VIP Field Level tickets and a pregame batting practice visit. For more information, visit www.padres.com/youthbaseball.
