LCS Viewership Finishes Up +7%

Giants NLCS Game 7 Victory is Highest-Rated MLB Game in San Francisco Since &rsquo;10 World Series<br />Social Media Comments Nearly Quadrupling 2011 Postseason

The television audience for the 2012 Postseason continues to grow heading into the first-ever World Series matchup between the Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants. Each of the final three NLCS games on FOX set a new high for TV viewership for the 2012 Postseason, topped by Monday night's Game Seven, which drew 8.1 million viewers despite going head-to-head in primetime with the third Presidential debate.

Overall, the LCS averaged 6.2 million viewers on FOX and TBS, up +7% over the 2011 LCS despite facing heavy competition from the final two Presidential debates and other primetime competition.

The Giants' 9-0 win in Game Seven to clinch their 20th NL pennant drew a 27.5 rating in San Francisco, the highest rating for any MLB game in the market since the Giants won the 2010 World Series. In St. Louis, the series averaged a 36.5 local rating, the best for a Cardinals NLCS appearance since 2005.

In addition, the MLB Postseason continues to demonstrate impressive growth in social media activity. To date, the 2012 Postseason has generated 7,988,497 public Facebook and Twitter comments, nearly four times as many (+294%) as last year through the end of the LCS, according to data from Bluefin Labs.

Coverage of Game One of the World Series on Wednesday between the Giants and the Tigers begins at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
