A look back at some moments in Phillies history

Yep, Father Time has flipped the calendar to a new year, 2014.
So, it's time to look back at some anniversary moments in Phillies history, including opening two new ballparks 10 years ago and the purchase of an old stadium 60 years ago. A long time ago, 120 years to be exact, an outfielder became the first Phillie to hit three home runs in a game.
Jan. 12, 2004
The Phillies open for business at 9 a.m. ET in their new offices at Citizens Bank Park.
March 4, 2004
The Phillies defeat the Yankees, 5-1, in the first game at Bright House Networks Field in Clearwater, Fla.
April 3, 2004
The Cleveland Indians defeat the Phillies, 3-1, in the On-Deck Series game, the first at Citizens Bank Park.
April 12, 2004
The Cincinnati Reds spoil the regular-season opener at Citizens Bank Park with a 4-1 win. Right fielder Bobby Abreu hits the first homer in new park.
April 15, 2004
A four-run eighth inning lifts the Phillies to a 6-4 win over the Reds, their first victory in Citizens Bank Park. Rheal Cormier is the winner, with the save for Billy Wagner. Homers were hit by David Bell and Mike Lieberthal.
May 13, 1954
Robin Roberts allows a leadoff home run to Bobby Adams and then retires the next 27 Cincinnati hitters in order as the Phillies beat the Reds, 8-1, at Connie Mack Stadium. Roberts struck out eight, improved his record to 4-3 and lowered his ERA to 1.88.
May 31, 1994
The Phillies rally for an 8-7 win at Wrigley Field, ending May with a 15-13 record despite losing three starting pitchers (Curt Schilling, Tommy Greene, Ben Rivera) and three regulars (John Kruk, Kevin Stocker and Dave Hollins) to the disabled list during the month.
June 4, 1964
The Dodgers' Sandy Koufax no-hits the Phillies, 3-0, at Connie Mack Stadium.
June 14, 2004
Jim Thome homers off Juan Acevedo in the first inning at Citizens Bank Park for his historic 400th career blast. The Phillies win, 10-7, over Cincinnati.
June 21, 1964, first game of doubleheader
Jim Bunning pitches the first perfect game in Phillies history when he blanks the Mets, 6-0, on Father's Day at New York. Gus Triandos catches the perfect game and becomes the first catcher ever to be behind the plate for no-hitters in each league. Rookie righty Rick Wise, 18, wins his first Major League game in the second game, 8-2.

Third baseman David Bell hits for the cycle in 14-6 win over Montreal at Citizens Bank Park.
July 2, 2004
The Phillies set a club record for most walks drawn in a game with 18, but lose, 7-6, in 16 innings to the Baltimore Orioles at Citizens Bank Park.
July 7, 1964
A two-out, three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning by right fielder Johnny Callison gives the National League a dramatic 7-4 victory in the All-Star Game at Shea Stadium. Callison's blast to the right-field seats comes off the Boston Red Sox's fireballing righty Dick Radatz. Callison becomes the first Phillie to win the All-Star Game MVP Award.
July 11, 1944
Lefty Ken Raffensberger becomes the first Phillies hurler to win an All-Star Game when he gets the decision in the NL's 7-1 victory at Pittsburgh.
July 12, 1994
Doug Jones becomes the first Phillies pitcher in 50 years to win an All-Star Game when he gets the verdict in the NL's 8-7, 10-inning win at Pittsburgh.
July 29, 1984
Second baseman Juan Samuel and center fielder Von Hayes are the first Phillies to hit back-to-back home runs to lead off a game, a 6-4 win over Montreal and righty Bill Gullickson at Veterans Stadium.
July 31, 1994
Left-hander Steve Carlton, the greatest pitcher in Phillies history, is inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Aug. 2, 1894
Center fielder Billy Hamilton sets a Major League record for most consecutive games scoring a run when he crosses plate in his 24th straight game as the Phillies beat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 9-8, at Baker Bowl. He finished the season scoring 194 runs, also a Major League record.
Aug. 2, 1984
The Phillies beat the Cardinals, 3-2, in St. Louis. Larry Andersen's club record for relief pitchers of hurling 32 2/3 straight scoreless innings ends when the Cardinals score in the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs.
Aug. 4, 1934, second game of doubleheader
Reggie Grabowski gives up a club-record 11 hits (10 singles) in one inning, an 11-run ninth as the New York Giants crush the Phillies, 21-4, at Baker Bowl. He also hit two batters.
Aug. 11, 1994
The Phillies edge Dallas Green's New York Mets in 15 innings, 2-1, at the Vet in what turns out to be the final game of the season as the players go on strike the following day. The strike wiped out the World Series for the first time.
Aug. 17, 1894
Collecting 28 singles out of a club-record 36 hits, The Phillies destroy visiting Louisville, 29-4. Outfielder Sam Thompson hits for the cycle -- three singles, a double, a triple and a home run in seven at-bats.
Sept. 14, 1984
Carlton wins his 235th game, 9-5 over Montreal at the Vet, to break the club record held by Roberts.
Sept. 21, 1964
Holding a 6 1/2-game lead with 12 games left in the season, the Phillies lose, 1-0, to Cincinnati as Chico Ruiz steals home with Frank Robinson at bat. The defeat launches a disastrous 10-game losing streak during which the Phillies fall out of first place.
Sept. 26, 1954
Center fielder Richie Ashburn finishes the season by playing in his 730th straight game, a Phillies all-time record that still stands. The streak began June 7, 1950, and ended when Ashburn failed to make the 1955 opener after getting injured in a collision with left fielder Del Ennis during a Spring Training game.
Oct. 1, 1904, second game of doubleheader
Catcher Red Dooin becomes the first Phillies player to hit an inside-the-park grand slam vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates. Only five other Phillies have matched the feat.
Oct. 2, 1964
The Phillies set a Major League record with their third triple play of the season, this one at Cincinnati. The others: May 17 at Houston and Aug. 15 at the New York Mets.
Oct. 9, 1894
Right fielder Jack Manning becomes the first Phillies player to hit three home runs in a game against the White Stockings in Chicago's Lakeshore Park.
Dec. 10, 1954
The Phillies purchase Connie Mack Stadium from the Philadelphia A's, who moved to Kansas City early in 1955.
