Davis will represent Mariners at '13 Draft

ANAHEIM -- Mariners Hall of Famer Alvin Davis has been selected to represent the club at the 2013 First-Year Player Draft on June 6 at MLB Network's Studio 42 in Secaucus, N.J.

Davis, also known as Mr. Mariner, is one of 25 former All-Stars who will represent various teams when they make their picks on the first day of the Draft.

Davis, 52, is currently working as a roving instructor in the Mariners' Minor League system.

The standout first baseman played with Seattle from 1984-1991 and was the Mariners' first inductee in the club's Hall of Fame in 1997. Davis was the American League Rookie of the Year in '84 and he hit .280 with 160 home runs and 683 RBIs in his nine-year career.

The Draft will take place from June 6-8, beginning with a Draft preview show on MLB.com and MLB Network on Thursday, June 6, at 3 p.m. PT. Live Draft coverage from MLB Network's Studio 42 begins at 4 p.m. PT, with the top 73 picks being streamed on MLB.com and broadcast on MLB Network.

Rounds 3-10 will be streamed live on MLB.com on June 7, beginning with a preview show at 9:30 a.m. PT, and Rounds 11-40 will be streamed live on MLB.com on June 8, starting at 10 a.m. PT.
