Angels announce 2014 season schedule

Halos open their 54th Major League season on March 31 vs. Seattle

The Angels today announced their schedule for the 2014 regular season, which kicks off at Angel Stadium March 31 against division rival Seattle. A finalized 2014 schedule, complete with game times, will be released later in the year.

The Angels begin the 2014 campaign with a brief three-game homestand (March 31-April 2) against the Mariners before embarking on their first road trip to Houston (April 4-7) and Seattle (April 8 & 9). 2014 marks the 10th time the Angels and Mariners have squared off to open a season and first since 2006.

The 2014 schedule features 11 homestands, including three 10-game home slates (May 15-25, July 18-27 & Sept. 12-21) and 11 road trips. July will see the Halos play 17 of their 26 contests at home, highlighted by a 10-game homestand against Seattle (July 18-20), Baltimore (July 21-23) and Detroit (July 24-27).

In 2014, the Angels play 20 Interleague games - 16 against the National League East and four games against the cross-town rival Dodgers. The 20 games will be played in eight series, four at the Big A and four on the road.

The Interleague lineup will see the Angels play host to the Mets (April 11-13), Phillies (Aug. 12 & 13) and Marlins (Aug. 25-27) while the club will make stops in Washington (April 21-23), Philadelphia (May 13 & 14) and Atlanta (June 13-15). The annual Freeway Series will kick off at Dodger Stadium with a two-game set Aug. 4-5 before wrapping up at Angel Stadium, Aug. 6-7.
