Reynolds lands on DL with left elbow strain

LOS ANGELES -- The D-backs placed left-hander Matt Reynolds on the 15-day disabled list with a left elbow strain.

Reynolds struggled a bit in his last two outings, allowing a pair of home runs Thursday in St. Louis and then a run in one inning of work Sunday.

"He's had kind of a cranky arm," D-backs manager Kirk Gibson said. "The bullpen and the way we've been using it, we tried to trim him out as much as we could, but after he had more discomfort yesterday, we got to the point where we need to kind of examine it a little more closely."

Reynolds was scheduled to have an MRI taken Monday and then see team physician Michael Lee on Tuesday.
