A's Korach missing some spring broadcasts

Radio announcer working to rehab 'significant' knee injury

MESA, Ariz. -- Longtime A's radio announcer Ken Korach is expected to be sidelined for the early part of the club's spring broadcast schedule while rehabbing a left knee injury.

In a letter addressed to the media explaining his expected absence, Korach described the injury as "significant" and said, "The goal is to get better." He had a replacement on the same knee in 2012.

Vince Cotroneo and Ray Fosse will be on the air for the A's first radio broadcast of the spring come Saturday, when the A's host the Angels for a 12:05 p.m. PT matchup at Hohokam Stadium. They can be heard on the team's flagship station, 95.7 The Game.

"I need to heal and do the rehab, and the process has been slow," wrote Korach, who noted he's receiving excellent care. "In the interim, I know the broadcasts will be in very good hands with Vince and Ray."

The 2015 season marks Korach's 20th with the A's and his 10th as the lead play-by-play voice.
