Astros set 2015 Opening Day roster

Hernandez, Thatcher added to 40-man; White designated for assignment

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros have set their 2015 Opening Day roster, making three transactions to set the 25-man and 40-man rosters. Right-handed pitcher Roberto Hernandez and left-handed pitcher Joe Thatcher were selected to the 40-man roster, while right-handed pitcher Alex White was designated for assignment. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

After today's transactions, the Astros 40-man roster remains full.

The Astros will enter the 2015 season with one rookie, right-handed pitcher Asher Wojciechowski, and nine players that also were on the club's 2014 Opening Day roster.

Four Astros players will make their debut on an active Opening Day roster on Monday: outfielder Jake Marisnick, right-handed pitcher Collin McHugh, outfielder George Springer and right-handed pitcher Asher Wojciechowski.
