Atlanta Braves Homestand Highlights: Friday, June 8 – Sunday, June 17

Friday, June 8 at 7:35 p.m. vs. Toronto Blue Jays – Gates Open at 5:00 p.m. 

  • Publix Friday Night Fireworks – Enjoy the Braves game and a spectacular fireworks show set to music following every Braves Friday home game.
  • Alumni Autographs– Braves alumni will be on-deck to sign autographs from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at different locations around the ballpark.   • John Smoltz Hall of Fame Induction and Uniform Number Retirement
    • Hall of Fame Induction – The Omni Hotel Friday at 11:30 a.m.
      • Legendary pitcher John Smoltz will be inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame during a special luncheon held at The Omni Hotel at CNN Center. Former teammates, coaches, and broadcasters will be on hand as we honor Smoltz, one of the greatest pitchers of all time.
    • Uniform Number Retirement – Turner Field at 7:00 p.m.
      • The Braves will retire John Smoltz's number 29 during a special on-field ceremony prior to the Friday June 8th game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Get your tickets to witness Braves history as Smoltz's number 29 becomes the ninth Braves uniform number to be retired, joining Hank Aaron (44), Eddie Mathews (41), Dale Murphy (3), Phil Niekro (35), Warren Spahn (21), Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine (47) and Bobby Cox (6).

Saturday, June 9 at 4:05 p.m. vs. Toronto Blue Jays – Gates Open at 1:00 p.m.

  • Alumni Softball Game 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Members of the 1992 Atlanta Braves square off against other Braves Legends in the second annual Braves Alumni Softball game prior to the start of the Blue Jays matchup.
  • Sid Slide Pregame Ceremony 3:40 p.m. – To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sid Bream’s slide into home plate during the 1992 National League Championship Series Game 7, subsequently sending the Braves to the World Series for the second consecutive year, a special pregame ceremony will take place honoring Bream, Francisco Cabrera and home plate umpire Randy Marsh. The presentation will be hosted by long-time Braves broadcaster and Braves Hall of Fame member, Pete Van Wieren.
  • Sid Bream Slides Bobblehead Gate Giveaway, presented by Coca-Cola and Delta Air Lines In the first of a series of three bobblehead giveaways this season, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Sid Bream Slides Bobblehead. Fans should mark their calendars for the remaining bobblehead giveaways, including the Craig Kimbrel 2011 Rookie of the Year on June 13and Chipper Jones on August 16.
  • Live Music in the Plaza – Fans will enjoy live music in the Plaza as Braves Band of the Year contestant, Aaron Parker, will perform.

Sunday, June 10 at 1:35 p.m. vs. Toronto Blue Jays – Gates Open at 11:00 a.m.

  • Alumni Sunday Braves alumni will greet fans take pictures at stations around the ballpark for Alumni Sundays. New York Yankees vs. Atlanta Braves (June 11 – June 13)

Monday, June 11 at 7:10 p.m. vs. New York Yankees

  • Live Music in the Plaza – Fans will enjoy live music in the Plaza as Braves Band of the Year contestant, the Return, will perform.
  • Braves Cap Gate Giveaway, presented by NAPA –The first 20,000 fans will receive a Braves baseball cap.

 

Tuesday, June 12 at 7:10 p.m. vs. New York Yankees

  • Live Music in the Plaza – Fans will enjoy live music in the Plaza as Braves Band of the Year contestant, Jordan Rager Band, will perform.
  • Braves Foam Tomahawk Gate Giveaway, presented by Equifax– The first 45,000 fans will receive a Braves foam tomahawk.

Wednesday, June 13 at 7:10 p.m. vs. New York Yankees

  • Live Music in the Plaza – Fans will enjoy live music in the Plaza as Braves Band of the Year contestant, The Whiskey Gentry, will perform.
  • Craig Kimbrel 2011 Rookie of the Year Bobblehead Night, presented by Delta Air Lines – The second installment of the braves bobblehead gate giveaways, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Craig Kimbrel 2011 Rookie of the Year Bobblehead.

Sunday, June 17 at 1:35 p.m. vs. Baltimore Orioles – Father’s Day Celebration

  • Alumni Sunday Braves alumni Rick Camp and Mark Lemke will greet fans and sign autographs pre-game.
  • Kids Run The Bases – Presented by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, we invite all kids 14 and under to run the bases after every regular season Sunday home game.  Just meet at the Hank Aaron ramp at aisle 129 on the Field Level.
  • Prostate Cancer Awareness Day– The Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball will host a celebration of survivorship honoring the men who have courageously battled prostate cancer. Survivors will be honored with a free lower-level game ticket, t-shirt and the opportunity to participation in "A March in the Park," a pregame on-field ceremony joined by Braves Manager Fredi Gonzalez and Braves players Chipper Jones. Family and friends of survivors can purchase tickets for $14. Register for Prostate Cancer Awareness Day today at braves.com/pcawareness. To show their support for Prostate Cancer Awareness, players, coaches, managers, trainers, groundskeepers, umpires and equipment managers will wear blue wristbands and blue ribbons on their jerseys on Father’s Day.
