Blue Jays' State of the Franchise to be streamed online

Annual season-ticket holder event to take place on Wednesday

TORONTO -- The Blue Jays will host the annual State of the Franchise at Rogers Centre on Wednesday, and this time, it can be watched live on bluejays.com .

The State of the Franchise is an annual event for season-ticket holders that provides an inside look at the ballclub. President Paul Beeston, general manager Alex Anthopoulos and manager John Gibbons will be on hand to interact and answer questions from fans.

Blue Jays play-by-play commentator Buck Martinez will host the event, which is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. ET. There will be opening remarks from the panel and then a question-and-answer session with season-ticket holders.

The State of the Franchise has proven to be a popular event in recent years. Beeston typically provides a very interesting take on business operations, while Anthopoulos fields questions on the inner workings of the Blue Jays' front office.

Some of the highlights in the past have included the possibility of a natural grass field at Rogers Centre and the perceived payroll parameters of the ballclub. The topics change every year and ultimately are decided by the fans.
