Bombers bits

• Ace CC Sabathia is scheduled to throw his first bullpen session of the spring on Saturday morning. The left-hander is coming off arthroscopic surgery to remove a bone spur from his pitching elbow.

• The Yankees are keeping tabs on free-agent right-hander Chien-Ming Wang. The New York Post reported that Wang recently threw a bullpen session at the home of spring pitching instructor Billy Connors.

Wang, 32, was 2-3 with a 6.68 ERA in 10 games for the Nationals last season. He won 19 games for New York in back-to-back seasons in 2006 and '07.

• Alex Rodriguez is scheduled to arrive in New York on Friday to continue his rehab from Jan. 16 left hip surgery. Rodriguez is not expected to join the Yankees in Florida at any point this spring, according to general manager Brian Cashman.
