I love baseball. More than anything. But being Canadian, hockey is in my blood. And evidently, Pirates Brandon Inge echoes my sentiments as he showed up at the Pirates clubhouse wearing a hockey jersey, a hockey helmet and big hockey pads. This might be seen as unusual to some, but trust me, the scenario makes sense. Inge is supporting another Pittsburgh sports team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are in the playoffs, and are currently ahead in the semi-final match up against the Ottawa Senators, 3-1. Inge sported his gear in the clubhouse and stood in front of a hockey net, allowing his teammates to try to score on him. Evidently, he explained that the end result is why he plays baseball, and not hockey. “It’s why I’m not a goalie,” he said.
