Brandon McCarthy's BP Playlist

You know what baseball players don’t like? A guy who takes himself too seriously. Baseball is a game, and it’s meant to be fun. That’s why players who maintain an air of lighthearted playfulness are favorites in the clubhouse. Players like Brandon McCarthy.

McCarthy recently tweeted this photo of his preferred batting practice playlist. Among notable classics like “Mambo #5” and “Only Time,” Brandon also lists “One long John Goodman fart,” “A 20 minute loop of Microsoft error noise” and “A Recording of a mall Santa swearing at kids under his breath” as jams he’d like to hear as he preps his swing for the game. Awesome stuff from an awesome guy, so I figured I’d jot down a few tracks that would get me amped to play ball.
