Braves, Sutton-Powell radio team reach deal

Agreement with Dickey Broadcasting Company keeps crew intact past 2014

ATLANTA -- The Braves have extended their partnership with the Dickey Broadcasting Company and announced that both Don Sutton and Jim Powell have agreed to continue calling their games on the radio beyond the 2014 season.

Every Braves regular-season game will once again be carried on 680 The Fan. Taking advantage of a stronger signal, the Dickey Broadcasting Company will switch the FM option next year to All News 106.7.

Under this new multiyear agreement, the Dickeys will also continue to manage the Braves Radio Network, which includes 150-plus radio stations located throughout the Southeast.

"Dickey Broadcasting has been a fantastic partner and rightsholder, and we're excited to continue our partnership," said Derek Schiller, the Braves' executive vice president of sales and marketing. "We look forward to growing Braves programming and hearing our games on All News 106.7 while we continue to give Atlanta Braves fans throughout the Southeast the best radio broadcast in baseball with Don and Jim at the helm."

Sutton and Powell have spent the past five seasons calling Braves games together on the radio.

After spending the previous 13 years teaming with Bob Uecker to form the Brewers' radio broadcast team, Powell came to Atlanta in 2009 to join Sutton, the Hall of Fame pitcher who has called Braves games on television or radio for 23 of the past 25 seasons.

"We are proud to be the official radio home of the Atlanta Braves," said David Dickey, president of Dickey Broadcasting Company. "680 The Fan is the dominant sports station in the region, and we believe our association with the Braves has greatly contributed to our incredible growth over the past four years. We will continue to work with the Braves to deliver the best coverage and more team-focused content throughout 2014 and beyond."
