Braves-Cards rained out; twin bill today
Atlanta's Miller, Wisler start traditional doubleheader
ATLANTA -- Shelby Miller's attempt to end his four-month winless streak was delayed a day.
Miller's scheduled start was pushed back until Sunday when rain prevented the Braves and Cardinals from playing on Saturday night at Turner Field. The game will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader that will begin at 1 p.m. ET. The second game will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.
Fans who have a paid ticket from Saturday's game can exchange it for Sunday's doubleheader, based on availability. Those fans already holding ticket for Sunday's game will be granted admission for both games of the twin bill.
Those who are unable to attend Sunday's games can exchange their paid ticket for any 2016 regular-season game once single-game tickets go on sale in March.
Gates will open on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Exchanges can be made at the Turner Field ticket office, which will open at 9:30 a.m.
Miller will attempt to snap his 24-start winless streak in the first game. Sunday's scheduled starter Matt Wisler will take the mound in the regular-season finale.
Saturday night's game was delayed for nearly two hours until it was postponed. Though the Braves' Draft position is the only thing that will be influenced by these remaining games, Major League Baseball determined both games will be played, primarily because the Cardinals are already in town and the doubleheader does not adversely affect either team's travel plans.
"It was going to be one of those nights when it rained on and off," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "You don't want to burn a pitcher when that situation arises. That's why we waited so long to play [Saturday's] game."
