Brewers challenge, get call overturned vs. Cubs
Lake initially ruled safe on stolen-base attempt but replay shows otherwise
CHICAGO -- Brewers manager Ron Roenicke won a seventh-inning challenge in Sunday's rubber match with the Cubs.
With one out and Anthony Rizzo at the plate, Junior Lake took off for second and was initially awarded a stolen base. Shortstop Jean Segura applied the tag and reacted fairly quickly to the safe call, prompting Roenicke to walk out from the dugout. Umpires overturned the call after a one-minute, 35-second review.
Rizzo followed with a two-out walk but was stranded after Starlin Castro struck out as the Brewers kept their deficit at 4-2 heading to the eighth.
Roenicke is now 4-3 in seven challenges.
