Brian Dozier Named to AL All-Star Team

American League All-Star manager Ned Yost of the Kansas City Royals announced today, in conjunction with Major League Baseball, that Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier will replace outfielder Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays on the AL's active roster for the 86^th All-Star Game. 

Bautista, who was named to his sixth consecutive All-Star Game, was elected via the Player Ballot. He entered play today batting .239 with 17 home runs, 59 RBI, 16 doubles, two triples and 54 runs scored. Bautista, who will be inactive during the All-Star Game as a result of treatment he will receive during the All-Star break for a sore shoulder, is invited to Cincinnati with full All-Star honors. Dozier, who entered play today batting .259 on the season with 19 home runs, 49 RBI, 26 doubles, three triples, nine stolen bases and a league-leading 66 runs scored, is an All-Star for the first time in his four-year career. The 28-year-old Mississippi native, who had been one of the players named to the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote, joins his Twins teammate Glen Perkins on the AL roster. 

The 2015 All-Star Game will be played at Great American Ball Park on Tuesday, July 14^th. The 86^th All-Star Game will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS; and worldwide by partners in more than 160 countries.
