Call stands after D-backs challenge play at second

NEW YORK -- D-backs manager Kirk Gibson lost a challenge in the fourth inning of Game 2 of Arizona's doubleheader against the Mets on Sunday.

With Anthony Recker at first base, Daisuke Matsuzaka laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance the runner. D-backs catcher Tuffy Gosewisch fielded it and threw down to second to try and get the lead runner.

Recker slid hard into second and was called safe after Gosewisch's foot was pulled off the bag. Gibson asked for a challenge, but after a four-minute, eight-second review, the call stood.
