Cardinals and Brewers finalize deal for Axford
St. Louis sends RHP Michael Blazek to Milwaukee as PTBNL
The St. Louis Cardinals confirmed this afternoon that they have agreed to send right-handed pitcher Michael Blazek to the Milwaukee Brewers as the player-to-be-named-later in their trade for right-handed reliever John Axford that was announced on Friday (August 30). Milwaukee had placed a waiver claim on Blazek who was 0-0 with a 6.97 ERA in 11 relief appearances for the Cardinals this season.
