Rockies finalize redesign plans at Coors Field

The Rockies and the Denver Metropolitan Stadium District unveiled on Wednesday the latest construction project at Coors Field, which includes a redesign and renovation of the upper right-field seating area and concourse.

The project began earlier this month and was designed by Populous (the original architect of Coors Field), Mortenson Construction (one of the original construction contractors of the stadium) and Aramark (original and exclusive food and beverage provider).

"We are always striving to improve the entire experience at Coors Field," Rockies owner, chairman and chief executive officer Dick Monfort said in a statement. "With that spirit in mind, it is exciting to add to our lower downtown ballpark the largest rooftop deck in sports, featuring two levels with more than 38,000 square feet."

The project's features include:

• Panoramic views of the Front Range and the ballpark's surrounding neighborhoods, as well as downtown.

• 5280 Craft Bar, which will feature a bar 52 feet and 80 inches long with 52 beer taps.

• CHUBurger Restaurant, with a display kitchen and craft burgers made with locally-grown beef from Oskar Blues Hops & Heifers Farm in Longmont, Colo.

• VIP Cabana Terrace, an urban garden setting that will include a fireplace, rooftop lights, casual furniture and pregame entertainment.
