Corrales returns to US after death of son

SYDNEY -- Pat Corrales, Dodgers special assistant to the general manager, and his wife returned to the United States earlier this week after the death of his son.

Corrales spent Spring Training with the Dodgers in Arizona and the couple flew on the team charter to Sydney.

Corrales is in his second season with the Dodgers in a 50-year career that included nine years as a manager, nine years as a player and several stints working for Dodgers president Stan Kasten in Atlanta and Washington.
