Pham starts for Cards, Schwarber back in for Cubs

Lineups for Game 3 of NL Division Series

The Cardinals and Cubs have posted their starting lineups for tonight's game at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Game 3 of the best-of-five National League Division Series, tied at a game apiece, is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET (TBS).

Pham gets first start
Rookie outfielder Tommy Pham draws his first postseason start in center field as Cardinals manager Mike Matheny set his lineup for a Game 3 matchup against Cubs starter Jake Arrieta.

With Pham starting in center, Jason Heyward slides back to his natural position in right field. Heyward, 6-for-18 in his career against Arrieta, remains the team's cleanup hitter. In three previous plate appearances against Arrieta, Pham is 1-for-2 with a walk. Pham homered in a Game 1 pinch-hit at-bat against Jon Lester on Friday.

Rookie Stephen Piscotty will make his second NLDS start at first base, a position he started at just nine times during the regular season. He is the only batter in the lineup who has not previously faced Arrieta.

Leadoff hitter Matt Carpenter (0-for-16), three-hole hitter Matt Holliday (1-for-15), catcher Yadier Molina (3-for-15) and shortstop Jhonny Peralta (6-for-27) have all had little to no career success against Arrieta.

Schwarber starts in left field
Kyle Schwarber starts for the second time in the series, batting sixth and playing left field for the Cubs. He replaces Austin Jackson, who started Game 2 on Saturday. Shortstop Addison Russell moves up from No. 9 to No. 7 in the order.

Schwarber was one of four rookies in manager Joe Maddon's lineup, joining right fielder Jorge Soler, third baseman Kris Bryant and shortstop Addison Russell.

Second baseman Starlin Castro has put together an impressive body of work against Wacha: 10-for-22 with two homers and seven RBIs in his career. The same is true of first baseman Anthony Rizzo, hitting .455 with two homers in 23 plate appearances against Wacha.

Bryant and Soler have each homered off Wacha.

Catcher Miguel Montero has historically struggled against Wacha, batting .133 with a .388 OPS in 16 plate appearances.
