Cubs social media buzzing before Game 1
When you talk about Chicago, you talk about a sports town. Great sports teams, great sports fans and historic sports figures.
This memorable Cubs run is bringing all of them together, as Chicago's teams have gotten behind the latest great team -- the Cubs have advanced to the National League Championship Series for the first time since 2003 after clinching a postseason series at home for the first time in the franchise's long history -- and the city's fans are enjoying the ride.

Game 1 of the NLCS against the Mets is Saturday night (7:30 ET on TBS) at Citi Field.
The NFL's Chicago Bears, NBA's Chicago Bulls and MLS's Chicago Fire all tweeted their congratulations to the Cubs this week. Same goes for the Northwestern football team and athletic department, as the Wildcats pride themselves as "Chicago's Big Ten team."
Everybody around Chicago is Flying the W flag these days, including former longtime Bears Pro Bowler Lance Briggs.
Fans of all ages are showing their spirit ...
... including self-described Cubs fan Chrisopher Hayes.
And while there aren't many things that can take the spotlight away from the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks these days, a Cubs World Series run might be just the thing.
