Renteria ejected for arguing balls and strikes

CHICAGO -- Cubs manager Rick Renteria was ejected in the third inning on Wednesday night by home-plate umpire Todd Tichenor for arguing balls and strikes.

It's the fourth time this season Renteria has been ejected.

With one out in the Mets' second, Renteria said something to Tichenor after Edwin Jackson's first pitch to Curtis Granderson was called a ball. Tichenor didn't like it, and Renteria was tossed. Renteria went onto the field to continue his argument, then exited.

"Like I've said, they have a tough job, and I think when you're watching your pitcher ... I believe he's attacking the zone, and pitches aren't getting called," Renteria said. "Obviously, [the umpire] has the better view than I do. I was just pointing out that I thought there were some good pitches."
