With one out in the Mets' second, Renteria said something to Tichenor after Edwin Jackson's first pitch to Curtis Granderson was called a ball. Tichenor didn't like it, and Renteria was tossed. Renteria went onto the field to continue his argument, then exited.
"Like I've said, they have a tough job, and I think when you're watching your pitcher ... I believe he's attacking the zone, and pitches aren't getting called," Renteria said. "Obviously, [the umpire] has the better view than I do. I was just pointing out that I thought there were some good pitches."
