D-backs acquire Herrmann in trade with Twins

Arizona sends prospect Palka to Minnesota

PHOENIX -- The D-backs acquired catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann from the Twins on Tuesday in exchange for first baseman/outfielder Daniel Palka.

Herrmann, 27, has appeared in 142 games over the past four seasons with the Twins at catcher, right field, left field and first base, hitting .181 with 15 doubles, six homers and 33 RBIs.

Over the last three seasons, Herrmann has hit .261 with 30 doubles, eight homers and 54 RBIs with Triple-A Rochester.

Palka, 24, was the D-backs' third-round pick in the 2013 Draft. Palka was No. 29 on Arizona's Top 30 prospects list this year.
