D-backs Go Gold for Phoenix Children's Hospital tomorrow

D-backs to raise funds for pediatric cancer programs at PCH in support of childhood cancer awareness month

The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) are encouraging fans to Go Gold for childhood cancer tomorrow. September is childhood cancer awareness month and the D-backs will dedicate Saturday's game to helping raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer programs at Phoenix Children's Hospital (PCH).

Prior to the game, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation will present a check for $100,000 to Phoenix Children's Hospital and will present a framed jersey to the Hallsey family, in memory of their son Tyler. The D-backs will also host several kids fighting cancer from the Phoenix Children's Hospital's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in the Raising Cane's Kids Corral during batting practice and many others will participate in various in-game and pregame activities. Eight brave cancer fighters from PCH, wearing special gold D-backs jerseys, will take the field with D-backs players during a special pregame ceremony. In addition, all proceeds from the D-backs 50/50 Raffle sales for the night will be designated to the pediatric cancer programs at PCH.

D-backs first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and his wife Amy frequently visit patients and families at Phoenix Children's Hospital and created the Bleacher Creature program to benefit Goldy's Fund 4 Kids, which raises funds for PCH. Fans that make a $44 tax-deductible donation to Goldy's Fund 4 Kids, can choose between three plush dolls that feature Goldschmidt in the D-backs Home (White) Uniform, the D-backs Sedona Red uniform, or the D-backs Black Alternate Uniform (1998-2000). For more information and to make a donation, visit www.dbacks.com/goldyfund or visit the Chase Field Team Shop. Fans that make a $44 tax-deductible donation will also receive $10 off a D-backs adjustable cap at the Chase Field Team Shop.

Tickets are still available for Saturday's game in which the first 25,000 fans will receive a Paul Goldschmidt bobblehead, courtesy of Chevrolet. Fans can also get their photo taken with Goldschmidt's Silver Slugger Award and Gold Glove Award at Season Ticket Holder Headquarters at section 111. For more information, visit www.dbacks.com.
