D-backs reinstate Patrick Corbin and Oscar Hernandez from the disabled list; option Matt Stites and Danny Dorn to Triple-A Reno

Tuffy Gosewisch transferred to the 60-day disabled list

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) reinstated left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin (Tommy John surgery) and catcher Oscar Hernandez (broken left hamate bone) from the 60-day disabled list, optioned right-handed pitcher Matt Stites and outfielder Danny Dorn to Triple-A Reno and transferred catcher Tuffy Gosewisch (torn left ACL) to the 60-day disabled list, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.

Corbin, who turns 26 on July 19, missed the entire 2014 season following Tommy John surgery on his left elbow last March 25 (performed by Dr. James Andrews). In 4 total rehabilitation starts with Double-A Mobile and Single-A Advanced Visalia this season, he was 1-1 with a 4.76 ERA (9 ER in 17.0 IP) with 11 strikeouts.

In 2013, Corbin went 14-8 with a 3.41 ERA (79 ER in 208.1 IP) and was named to the NL All-Star Team in his first full season with the D-backs. He was chosen by the Arizona Chapter of the BBWAA as the D-backs' Most Valuable Pitcher, and became the youngest lefty pitcher in club history with both 30 starts and 200.0 innings pitched.

Hernandez, who turns 22 on July 9, hit .211 (8-for-38) with 3 doubles and 3 RBI in 13 rehab games with Triple-A Reno and Single-A Kane County. He was selected by the D-backs in the 2014 Rule 5 Draft after spending the previous 5 seasons in the Tampa Bay Rays' farm system (2010-14).

Hernandez, who suffered the hand injury in early March, has thrown out 43.6 percent (99-for-227) of attempted basestealers in his Minor League career.

Stites, 25, appeared in 2 games with the D-backs in 2015 (1.1 IP) after starting the season on the disabled list with right elbow inflammation.

Dorn, 30, made 22 appearances with Arizona this season, going 5-for-29 (.172) with 1 double and 3 RBI.

Gosewisch, 31, suffered his knee injury running to first base in the sixth inning on May 27 @ Cardinals, and was placed on the 15-day disabled list the following day.

The D-backs' 40-man roster is now at 40.
