Deshaies interviews for Cubs' broadcast position

Deshaies interviewed last week with the Cubs to replace Bob Brenly, who left Cubs television on WGN to join the D-backs' broadcast team.
"I was up there last week to discuss the job," Deshaies said. "I had a couple of good meetings."
Deshaies and television play-by-play voice Bill Brown are both expected to have contracts renewed for next year, when the Astros' games move to CSN Houston, a new regional sports network the Astros share with the Rockets.
The Astros are looking for a new radio broadcast team following the retirement of Milo Hamilton and departure of Brett Dolan and Dave Raymond, who didn't have their contracts renewed.
According to Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Dan Plesac told WGN on Friday that he's withdrawing from consideration for the Cubs TV analyst job and will remain at MLB Network. Doug Glanville also is reportedly out of the mix. The former big league outfielder is reportedly close to an extension with ESPN.
