Dodgers play interleague series Monday through Wednesday against Seattle; Jackie Robinson day and civil rights game April 15

LOS ANGELES - The Dodgers' second homestand of the season begins with an Interleague three-game series against the Seattle Mariners, Monday, April 13, Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15. All contests against the Mariners take place at 7:10 p.m. with auto gates opening at 4:30 p.m. and stadium gates opening at 5:00 p.m. Major League Baseball and the Dodgers will highlight this series with the presentation of the 2015 Civil Rights Game on Jackie Robinson Day, Wednesday, April 15, which will air nationally on ESPN2 and via the WatchESPN app, with coverage scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for all games against Seattle are still available and can be purchased by calling 866-DODGERS or by visiting www.dodgers.com/tickets.

The Dodgers take on the Mariners at 7:10 p.m. Monday. All auto gates open at 4:30 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:00 p.m. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive the first of eight Cy Young collectible pins, Cy Young Collectors' Pin Series Don Newcombe presented by 76 (image attached).

Cast member Nico DeJesus from Disney's hit musical "Newsies" at the Hollywood Pantages through April 19 will throw the ceremonial first pitch. LA Opera bass-baritone and LA native Ryan McKinny will perform the national anthem. McKinny has performed in seven different productions at LA Opera, most recently as the star of "The Marriage of Figaro" and "A Streetcar named Desire." He has also sung leading roles at New York's Metropolitan Opera and at Houston Grand Opera.

Prior to Monday's game, Wilson will present Adrian Gonzalez and Juan Uribe with their Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Awards. Founded in 2012, the Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Award winners are determined using a formula that combines traditional defensive stats with advanced metrics, as well as the data logged by the baseball experts working for the scouting service Inside Edge. The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Navy Commander Todd P. Klipp of New York. Klipp served active duty for 26 years in several capacities including Commander, Naval Surface Forces Atlantic; Commander, Amphibious Group Four; Commander, Amphibious Group Three; Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command and the Bureau of Naval Personnel. His deployments include to 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean, the North Atlantic with NATO and to 5th Fleet in the Persian Gulf. Klipp finished his naval career at Naval Surface Warfare Command, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) where he served as the Chief Staff Officer and Department Officer for the Ship Defense and Expeditionary Warfare Department.

Monday, April 13

The Dodgers take on the Mariners at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday. All auto gates open at 4:30 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:00 p.m.

Prior to the game, as part of the 2015 Civil Rights Game and Jackie Robinson Day celebration, MLB and the Dodgers will conduct a youth baseball clinic at the Rancho Cienega Sports Complex at 5:00 p.m. The clinic, administered by the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, will be conducted for members of the Dodgers RBI program, as well as other local youth baseball leagues. The youngsters will receive coaching on throwing, pitching, fielding, hitting and other skill-based activities. Dodger Alumni Tommy Davis, Lee Lacy, Mickey Hatcher and Derrel Thomas will be in attendance and lead the clinic. MLB and Dodgers executives will be in attendance. The clinic will mark the launch of the 2015 Dodgers RBI Program. 

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation provides uniforms and equipment, recruitment assistance, supplemental marketing assistance, cash grants for umpires and field maintenance, coach clinics, special events and tournaments and education and health resources to Dodgers RBI Partners; The City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks, Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation, Boys and Girls Club of Venice, and the MLB Urban Youth Academy in Compton. For the 2015 season, the Dodgers RBI program expects to serve more than 4,000 participants and more than 250 baseball and softball teams throughout South Los Angeles and the surrounding communities.

The Dodgers will play host to Star Wars fans on Tuesday. A special Star Wars ticket package that included an infield reserve or All-You-Can-Eat right-field pavilion ticket and an exclusive Star Wars T-shirt (image attached) sold out. Pregame ceremonies will be themed to Star Wars and Star Wars characters will be on hand to take photos with fans. "American Idol" Top 16 finalist and lead singer of synth-pop act MONOGEM Jen Hirsh will perform the national anthem.

Dodger alumnus Kenny Landreaux will sign autographs in the left-field plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Military Heroes of the Game are U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Lance Weir of Walnut Ridge, AR, and U.S. Marine Corporal Justin Crabbe of Rancho Cucamonga. Weir served a short time in the military due to an accident and is now serving as Veterans Liaison at Canine Companions for Independence where he helps pair wounded veterans with assistance dogs. Crabbe served a six-month deployment to Japan and Afghanistan. Crabbe also serves as Veterans Liaison at Canine Companions for Independence. Headquartered in Santa Rosa, Canine Companions for Independence is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support.

Tuesday, April 14

The Dodgers conclude their Interleague series against the Mariners at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday. All auto gates open at 4:30 p.m. and all stadium gates open at 5:00 p.m. MLB and the Dodgers will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day Wednesday and also present the 2015 Civil Rights Game. The first 40,000 fans in attendance will receive an Adult Jackie Robinson Replica Jersey presented by Bank of America (image attached).

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Jackie Robinson signing his first professional contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers organization in 1945, which was the first step toward his eventual breaking of the color barrier on April 15, 1947. As has been a tradition each April 15 since 2009, Major League Baseball will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day with all players and on-field personnel wearing Number '42' during that day's games, including the Civil Rights Game at Dodger Stadium. Throughout the league, the annual celebration to commemorate the anniversary of Robinson breaking Baseball's color barrier in 1947 will feature on-field, pregame ceremonies.

Rachel Robinson, Jackie's widow, will play a central role in a first-pitch ceremony prior to the Civil Rights Game on Jackie Robinson Day. In addition to Mrs. Robinson, the ceremony also will feature Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax, Dodgers Legend Don Newcombe, Joni Campanella (Roy's daughter) and scholars from the Jackie Robinson Foundation. Dolores Huerta, Earvin "Magic" Johnson and Frank Robinson also will be recognized during pre-game ceremonies. Actor and multi-platinum Grammy-nominated artist Tyrese Gibson will perform the national anthem.

Major League Baseball and its Clubs are longstanding supporters of the Jackie Robinson Foundation, and currently sponsor 33 Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholars. The Foundation, established in 1973, provides four-year college scholarships, graduate school grants and extensive mentoring to a diverse group of academically distinguished students with leadership potential. The Foundation cultivates future leaders who will be ambassadors of Jackie Robinson's guiding life tenet, "A life is not important except in its impact on other lives."

At 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, MLB and the Dodgers will play host to the Baseball & Civil Rights Movement Roundtable Discussion at the Millennium Biltmore in downtown Los Angeles. A panel of prominent individuals will discuss the pivotal role Baseball played in the civil rights movement and the game's continued presence as a social institution, as well as present-day social issues affecting the country and the world. The Baseball & Civil Rights Movement Roundtable Discussion, which will be moderated by Harvard Law School Professor Dr. Charles Ogletree, will be streamed on MLB.com and Dodgers.com prior to the Civil Rights Game. Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr. and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti also will present at the Roundtable.

Johnson and Huerta will receive the 2015 MLB Beacon Awards at Wednesday's roundtable, which recognize individuals whose lives and actions have been emblematic of the spirit of the civil rights movement.

A pregame Civil Rights Game press conference with MLB Commissioner Robert D. Manfred, Jr., Rachel Robinson (Founder, Jackie Robinson Foundation; wife of Jackie Robinson) and Earvin "Magic" Johnson will take place at approximately 6:15 p.m. Wednesday in the Interview Room.

The Military Hero of the Game is U.S. Army Colonel Cathy M. Davidson of Chicago. Davidson has served in the military 25 years and was commissioned in 1990. Her first assignment was the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit after completing OBC and successfully crossed-training in Neonatal ICU and the Pediatric Unit, after which she earned the "Delta" identifier in 1991. Davidson served as a Clinical Nurse at 121st Evacuation Hospital (EUSA) in Seoul, Korea, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany and most recently served as Chief, Quality Management Division, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany. She is currently serving as the Deputy Commander Nursing Services at Weed Army Community Hospital in Fort Irwin.
