Dodgers prospect Dominguez suspended

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers Minor League right-handed pitcher Jose Dominguez has been suspended for 25 games without pay for a violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Dominguez, who is on the roster of the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League, will be effective at the start of next season.

Dominguez, 22, split the 2012 season between Class A Great Lakes and Chattanooga primarily as a reliever. He was signed at the age of 17 and spent his first three professional seasons in the Dominican Rookie League.

Dominguez is considered the organization's 18th-best prospect by MLB.com.
