DraftKings picks: Bautista, Teixeira, Fielder

DraftKings participants could struggle to find serviceable starters on Wednesday, which will feature a slate light on aces and several games at hitter-friendly venues. Hitting decisions could be slightly easier, with several teams in position to contribute an attractive offensive stack. Check out our recommendations below.

Edwin Encarnacion (Blue Jays): With a career .881 OPS against left-handers (.814 vs. righties), the first baseman could put his power on display on Wednesday at homer-happy Rogers Centre against Yankees lefty CC Sabathia.

Josh Donaldson (Blue Jays): Donaldson is among baseball's best against lefties, with a career .955 OPS off them that notably exceeds his .759 mark vs. right-handers. On Wednesday, the third baseman could rip a round-tripper at his hitter-friendly home park, as Sabathia has surrendered 65 homers across his past 73 starts dating back to the start of 2012.

:: Fred Zinkie's Daily Picks ::

Jose Bautista (Blue Jays): The outfielder could be involved in plenty of run-scoring Wednesday, as he also owns a lofty career OPS vs. lefties (.895) and will likely hit between Donaldson and Encarnacion. With a 4.93 ERA since the outset of the 2013 season, Sabathia may not be able to handle Toronto's right-handed mashers in an offense-inducing venue.

Mark Teixeira (Yankees): On Wednesday, the first baseman could help the Yankees keep pace in a potentially high-scoring contest by improving on his lifetime .912 OPS vs. lefties. Teixeira will be facing Toronto's Mark Buehrle, a soft-tossing southpaw who has posted a 1.39 WHIP since relocating to Toronto before the 2013 season.

Chris Young (Yankees): The owner of a career .835 OPS against southpaws (.711 vs. righties), Young has hit .308 with six homers and 12 RBIs through 24 games this season. Wednesday may be a prime time to give the part-time outfielder a chance, as he could reach base multiple times against the left-handed Buehrle (career 1.29 WHIP).

Kevin Kiermaier (Rays): In possession of a career .837 OPS against right-handers (.562 vs. lefties), Kiermaier could thrive when he gets away from his pitcher-friendly home park on Wednesday. In a matchup with the Red Sox at Fenway Park, Kiermaier could reach base in multiples against righty Justin Masterson, who has compiled a lifetime 1.39 WHIP.

David DeJesus (Rays): The outfielder could improve on his lifetime .286/.363/.443 slash line against right-handers on Wednesday, as Masterson in his career has allowed a .793 OPS to left-handed hitters such as DeJesus (.606 vs. righty hitters).

Jason Castro (Astros): Castro has long fared best against right-handers, posting a lifetime .761 OPS against them that exceeds his .553 mark against lefties. The catcher could excel during a home contest against Rangers righty Colby Lewis, who in his career has allowed left-handed hitters to post an .829 OPS (.726 vs. right-handed batters).

Colby Rasmus (Astros): Another lefty slugger who could take advantage of a favorable matchup with Lewis, Rasmus has compiled a lifetime .792 OPS against right-handers (.649 vs. lefties). The 28-year-old could be part of a productive offense on Wednesday, as Lewis has compiled a 4.78 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in his big league tenure.

Luis Valbuena (Astros): With six homers across 91 at-bats this season, the third baseman is proving that he can build on the power skills he displayed during his 16-homer campaign from 2014. Set to face Lewis, the left-handed hitter has slugged 45 of his 51 career homers against righties, against whom he owns a .779 OPS since the start of 2013 (.567 mark vs. southpaws in that span).

Prince Fielder (Rangers): The first baseman could display his power when he brings a lifetime .964 OPS against right-handers (.799 vs. lefties) into a Wednesday matchup with Astros righty Samuel Deduno (career 4.14 ERA, 1.43 WHIP).

David Freese (Angels): Freese could excel during a home contest against Mariners southpaw Roenis Elias (career 4.11 FIP, 1.33 WHIP), as the third baseman has compiled a lifetime .315/.381/.487 slash line against lefties.

Gerrit Cole (Pirates): The right-hander looks to be in the midst of a breakout season, as he is 4-0 with a 1.76 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP across five starts. On Wednesday, Cole could improve on a lifetime 2.96 FIP when he faces the Reds at his pitcher-friendly home park.

Mike Foltynewicz (Braves): The owner of a 4.94 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in his brief big league career, the right-hander could have a low DraftKings price tag on Wednesday. Owners seeking an inexpensive evening starter could give Foltynewicz a chance at his pitcher-friendly home park against the Phillies, who rank last in baseball with a .613 OPS and 2.85 runs per game. Prior to his promotion, the 23-year-old had produced 30 strikeouts across 21 2/3 Triple-A innings this season.

Scott Kazmir (A's): With a 3.26 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP since joining the A's at the outset of the 2014 season, the left-handed Kazmir on Wednesday could thrive at pitcher-friendly Target Field vs. a Twins lineup that has several sluggers who fare best against right-handers.

C.J. Wilson (Angels): Wilson struggled during the 2014 season, but he has shown signs of rebounding by compiling a 2.73 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP across five 2015 starts. On a night with few rock-solid options on the mound, Wilson could reward DraftKings participants with quality innings against the Mariners at his pitcher-friendly home venue.
